Boat trips to Spinalonga, Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa Peninsula, fishing trips and sunset cruises, excursions to offshore islands and nearby beaches bring every visitor closer to the true island experience, while admiring wonderful landscapes and diving into the blue.
Spinalonga Island
Originally, Spinalonga was not an island, it was part of the island of Crete. During Venetian occupation, it was carved out of the coast for defence purposes and a fort was built there. The island has also been used as a leper colony. Spinalonga has appeared in novels, television series and a short film. It is a must-see excursion for those who want to combine land and sea tours. You will also visit the eastern part of Crete, Agios Nikolaos, a small town with a picturesque harbour.
Balos Lagoon & Gramvousa Peninsula
In the gulf of Kissamos, on the West of Chania, there is a complex of beautiful islets. Among them, the peninsula of Gramvoussa stands out: a wonderful landscape with a Venetian castle dominating it on one hand, blue and green shallow waters on the other. Balos offers a stunning beach with warm waters and white sand. A small boat from Kissamos will carry you there on a day trip.
